FAITH

img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v479/olivertejada/jesus-man-praying2.jpg" alt="Image hosted by Photobucket.com">

I had a survey from one of the classes I have handled with. The poll question was something like: How do you rate your school from one to ten (1-10), where the rate of ten is the highest? Little did I expect that the result of the votes was really very unlikely. Some of them were loyal to their school but most of them are not. Then I followed up a pondering question to them: So why on earth are you enrolled in this school and staying in here!?

This is just a matter of FAITH, I guess. Faith is something we believe in, even we haven't seen them yet, or perhaps, haven't proven them yet. I immediately rectify to the students that this reflects similarly related to your faith in your school right now.

Looking at the true context of faith, allow me to tell a short story about The Famous Acrobat:

Once upon a time there was a well-known acrobat, who held his greatest performance of his life in his own hometown. In the night of the big event, the stadium was packed with audience of all sorts of people in all walks of life. They were about to witness their own natives performing, and be proud of him. Ninety-nine percent of his crowd were all faithful to his stunts for he has done this things almost all his life.

The moment of truth came, and the great acrobat started his death-defying stunts. With his bare foot, he walked first on a piece of wire without anything attached to his body; on a 17-storey-building crevice away from the ground. This jaw-dropping act caught the audience attention on a hype. In his first attempt he made it , thus, the audience gave him a round of applause and they said, "wow! nice one! we believe in you!, we believe in you!

Another stunt was presented. By this time, he held in his hand a piece of 17-meter rod swinging side to side while he walked across thru that thin piece of wire. Eventually he made it successful, henceforth, the audience gave the greatest acrobat another round of applause, with a standing ovation and they shouted, "You are one of a kind! Marvelous! We believe in you! We believe in you!

Third of his stunts consequently had been performed and it was again a successful one that garnered a lot praise and applause from the audience. Until, they came to his last but not-the-least stunt for them. By this time, the great acrobat yelled to the crowd and asked them for a volunteer; to ride on his back while he does all of the stunts all over again. After that request, there was a sudden period of silence from the audience. The once noisy and believing crowds were seemingly had gone and lost.

What's the point of the story here? Where are those noisy and "faithful" crowds gone!? Sometimes, we are like this type of crowd who only praise our God by mouth but not by heart! And most of the time God is the one who shows us wonders and great things, and yet, we can't be convinced is some ways till we see it. But it was written: "Blessed are those who believe yet they do not see."

However, the story doesn't end there. In the midst of the silent crowd, there was a tiny hand that went up from the middle of the guilty audience. It was a hand that belonged from a little boy, who was very much willing to risk his life. He went off the crowd to find his way to the acrobat, and climbed up on his back then performed the stunt. Fascinated and amazed the crowds were, after the stunt was delivered, the crowd was astounded by the participation of a young and brave boy.

This could probably why Jesus, our lord, loves the little children. For their heart is as pure as gold and a faith bigger than mountains. Children will never let you down once they believed in you. Their trust is genuine.

By the way, the little boy that risked his life to praise the acrobat? Was none other than the acrobat’s only begotten... son.

Now, my folks, I leave the rest to you... Try to ponder this?

How do we believe our father?
How much faith we have for him?
Was there a time that we have already risk our own life for him?

Let us now assume that your school is like a father, who will guide you, hone you and even harness you with all the things you need; in order to equip you and prepare you in the never-ending quest for life. While your school faithfully and loyally leads you into the path of your endeavor, it will continuously serve as your guide and light into the clouds of darkness.

The true meaning of faith lurks behind the mission and vision of your school and the spirit that comes from every student therein with. Best school starts with best students. Jose’ Protacio Rizal and the rest of the imminent individuals like Albert Einstein, would not have been geniuses if they had not been a good student. Best school starts with best students.

Now, I want to ask you again: How do you rate your school you have voluntarily enrolled into?

You know what they answered me? believe it or not,
A PERFECT TEN (10) !

GOD BLESS...
